The Phoenix Suns (1-0) play at the Los Angeles Lakers (1-0) on Friday at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.

This is the Suns' second game in LA following their season-opening 116-113 overtime win at the Clippers on Wednesday. The Lakers won their home debut against the Minnesota Timberwolves 110-103 on Tuesday.

Kevin Durant of the Suns and LeBron James of the Lakers will meet for the 41st time in their 18 years. James went 18-8 in the regular season against Durant-led teams. In the playoffs, Durant's teams lead James' teams 9-5.

Big 3, sun rain from deep in the 1st quarter

Phoenix ended the first quarter with a 14-5 run and led LA 38-23.

The Suns showed a good shooting rate of almost 70% in the first quarter with 16 goals, including eight three-pointers and 15 assists. They finished with a 14-5 run, extending their largest early lead of the game to 15.

Devin Booker scored five points in that run and had 10 points after one quarter. The other two of Phoenix's Big 3, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, have seven and five points, respectively.

The Suns start Tyus Jones and Devin Booker in the backcourt, Bradley Beal, Kevin Durant and Jusuf Nurkic.

The Lakers will open with D'Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, LeBron James, Rui Hachiumura and Anthony Davis.

Suns' Beal available, Allen out

Bradley Beal (shoulder) was upgraded to available. Suns sixth man Grayson Allen (Achilles) was downgraded to inactive.

Suns wings Bradley Beal (shoulder) and Grayson Allen (Achilles) are probable, and Josh Okogie (hamstring) is out.

Lakers four-man Jaxson Hayes (foot) is likely. His big colleagues Jalen Hood-Schifino (illness), Jarred Vanderbilt (foot) and Christian Koloko are out.
