Trail Blazers games air on DirecTV and Fubo – and on Comcast, although there are channel listing issues

Local customers of DirecTV and streaming service Fubo will be able to watch Portland Trail Blazers games beginning with Wednesday night's home opener against Golden State after the platforms agreed to air games as part of the franchise's effort to make broadcasts available to more viewers .

Last month, the Blazers announced plans to leave Root Sports a year after the network moved to its highest package with Comcast Xfinity. The team then announced a partnership with Sinclair Broadcast Group, which they said would help the Blazers reach four times more viewers than last season.

Sinclair has stations in Portland, Medford and Eugene, as well as two in Washington.

Most games air in Portland on KATU 2.2. The Charge-branded station is available both on cable providers such as Xfinity and over-the-air via a digital antenna.

But hours before the start of the season at 7 p.m., it was unclear whether the games would also be available to customers of other platforms.

On the team's website, a page titled “How to Watch” states that “all available games” will be streamed on Fubo and broadcast via satellite via DirecTV. Dewayne Hankins, the Blazers' general manager, confirmed that the contracts with the platforms had been finalized.

Games aren't currently available on other streaming services like YouTubeTV, Hulu and DirecTV Stream, but that could change after January 1, when KUNP in Portland moves from Univision to the Rip City TV Network and will air games in addition to Charge. Deals with the streaming platforms still have to be negotiated.

Last week, the team announced it would be giving away 5,000 digital antennas to registered fans. The website says all 5,000 have been claimed. A standard digital antenna can cost around $20.

Fans were also encouraged to subscribe to BlazerVision, a streaming service through the NBA app that costs $120 per year or $19.99 per month.

But even on Xfinity, finding the games could be a challenge. The cable provider airs KATU Charge in Portland on channels 302 and 1170. However, Wednesday's program guide listed episodes of “CSI: Miami” for 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m

That could be a source of frustration for some, but Hankins confirmed that the games would indeed be broadcast live on that channel, regardless of what is on the TV schedule.

The Charge channels on Xfinity would also be transitioned to HD channels Wednesday afternoon, Hankins said.

Here's a look at which channel in each region will broadcast the games:
